Adam Michelson serves as the Director of Ecommerce at Optaros, Inc., an international consulting and systems integration firm that assembles online shopping solutions. Adam works with clients to leverage Next Generation Internet technologies for ecommerce re-platforming, new online retail concepts, and multi-channel efforts. A leading authority on ecommerce, he speaks often at industry events and is a published author in trade and national publications. Mr. Michelson is also involved in managing the Optaros Service Oriented Architecture practice.

Prior to joining Optaros, Mr. Michelson was the Director of Engineering at ZANTAZ (purchased by Autonomy), a litigation support and compliance software product company. Adam was responsible for overseeing a 36 person engineering team, managing technical implementations, and collaborating with product management to develop the product roadmap.

Previously, Mr. Michelson was a Technical Director Senior Architect at AGENCY.COM, a leading Internet consulting company. In this role he served as a technical leader and architect for some of the largest and most complex projects undertaken by AGENCY.COM, including globally dispersed project teams of over 100 people. As the J2EE practice lead for AGENCY.COM, Adam developed technical processes, tools, and best practices to deepen the J2EE expertise for large and strategic technical engagements. Some of the clients Adam architected and delivered solutions for include: Daimler Chrysler, Liberty Mutual, Financial Times, Astra Pharmaceuticals, Nationwide Insurance and Corning Inc.

In his earlier days, Mr. Michelson was an Associate Technical Director at Cambridge Technology Partners managing developers, interacting with clients, and architecting client-server and web solutions. Some of his clients included: J. P. Morgan & Co, Loomis Sayles, Boston Gas, Fleet Bank and NASDAQ.

Mr. Michelson holds a BS in Computer Science and a Minor in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
